Gymnazium Nymburk Endowment Fund

In 1992, the gymnazium Nymburk Foundation was created by Mr. Bohuslav Sedlaty, JUDr. In 1998, the Gymnazium Nymburk Foundation became the Gymnazium Nymburk Endowment Fund bringing it into harmony with current legislation.

The main aim of the Fund according to the Foundation charter is to support language teaching as well as sports education at school.

Thanks to the financial resources of the Fund, excellent students from lower income families are given the opportunity to take part in activities planned by the school. For example: excursions abroad, exchange programmes, skiing courses etc.

Contributions are made by various sponsors – parents, businessmen from the region, as well as from sources abroad .

A regular contributor to the Fund is Mr. Mike Beaty from the USA. Thanks to his financial contribution one of the students (the winner of a competition) is sent to the USA every year.

The Dutch Rotary Club also closely cooperates with the Fund. Due to its support it has been possible to improve the resources of the foreign language library.

The account number of the Gymnazium Nymburk Endowment Fund is 129 154 975/5100. The account is kept at IPB Nymburk.

Budget and financial expenditures of Gymnazium Nymburk Endowment Fund

the year 1999:

  • income: 40 952,97 CZK

  • expenditures: 60 035, 49 CZK


Income consist of contributions from natural and legal persons and deposit account interests. Expenditures worth mentioning are:

  • purchase of special textbooks for English and German teaching
  • contribution to a purchase of the kiln for art lessons (making pottery)
  • a contribution to a group of students for their trip to the USA
  • individual contributions to students with excellent results from lower-income families (to ski courses, excursions, athletic courses, etc.)


the year 2000:

  • income:  91 765, 76 CZK

  • expenditures: 60 035, 49CZK


Income consist of contributions from natural and legal persons and deposit account interests. Expenditures include:

  • a contribution to a Geographic excursion to Paris
  • a purchase of special textbooks and books
  • a contribution to the stay of Dutch teachers during their exchange
  • contributions to the stay of a native English lecturer
  • individual contributions to students
